Base Line Essay
When Jr. says to the people in Reardan that he is not poor he wants them to treat him like he is not dirt. Him being Indian already makes him stand out but him adding on that he is poor will make him stand out more and they will think that all Indians are poor. Jr. probably wants to blend in more with the students in Reardan. In the chapter "Dance, Dance, Dance" Jr. and Penelope were invited by Roger to go to Denny's but he only had $5. Roger ended up giving him money so he can pay then they guessed that he was poor. Podcast Hackathon
Script and Final Recording
In this small project what we had to do was make a audio diary of a certain character in the book that your group has been assigned to. What I learned of the making of the pod cast is that you either need a clear and strong voice or good microphones. I was grouped with Ambahr and Sarrah. We had to add in side-characters and if possible make our own scenes. In my group our character was Gordy, Jr.'s friend in the Reardan school. Ambahr was Gordy. Sarrah was Gordy's mom and a certain teacher, and I was Jr. What I did in this was help edit the recording and make a script for my section that I am in. With this project it had expanded my mind of how there is the different perspectives of different characters and the reader.
The process of the recording was easy. We had to look at all the chapters that our character was in. Then we wrote down all the dialogue. Brainstorming was easy because since he wasn't in the book much we can create scenes. With that we created the script then recorded it. The first scene was recorded in Vons then the rest of the recording was recorded outside class. The difficult thing of recording was that I couldn't go to Vons so Jr. wasn't in the first scene. In our recording we didn't add any sound effects we just made it. |

We all had specific chapter to type down all the dialogue that Gordy has in the book. So with the chapters that we worked on we typed down the actions, how we can use it with the recording and it being resourceful. The chapter where the teacher calls our Jr. we wanted to put that in the recording to add a little bit of excitement.
