The reason why I took honors in math class and all the other classes was to improve my skills as a student. I wanted to challenge myself and push myself to improve my skills in work ethic, organization, time-management, and procrastinate less. And it definitely worked. Comparing myself from the beginning of the year until now, I can see a difference in work ethic and how I manage my work from school and outside of school. I don't think that there was a negative side in taking honors because I was able to improve my skills and learn who I am as a student and learn from that. I was able to push myself and challenge my thinking.
In my honors project I paired up with my friend Sabrina. I found a picture of a hexastix that had a question "How Many Times Does A hexastix Intersect?" There was no answer in the web so I thought that this was a good project to work on and challenge our thinking. Since this project was related to finding the formula, we had to find a pattern and see how many times they intersect. At first it was hard because we had to consider that it is a 3D object and they don't literally intersect but cross over. It was challenging to find the answer but with some help from others, we were able to find it. I learned that I am quite persistent. Since we were having difficulty solving the problem, I kept on pushing to see if we can solve it. So we tried different ways to solve it and pushed through.

Some suggestions that I have for honors next year is to challenge people's thinking more. It will allow them to think outside of the box more and push themselves to ask questions and persevere more.
