What we did:
We needed to raise $18,000 in a month. This was the most difficult and most important phase because if we didn't get the money the houses wouldn't be built so this project would be a failure. The reason why it was difficult is because when the 3 weeks were up we only reached around $5,000 and we needed $13,000 more. So at the last week what we did was call and email any radio station so they can get the word out, hardware stores and anyone willing to help. There was a main helper, they said that they will pay the rest if they approve of our project so it was between a yes and a no and it was on the final hours of the Kickstarter ending so it was a close call.
Reflection:
We were really lucky to have the rest of the money on the last few hours before the Kickstarter didn't reach the goal of $18,000. If we prepared before doing the Kickstarter we would have a good start of getting the word out. What I had to do during the fundraising was get contacts of radio stations, hardware stores and email them.
