A way to keep the brain healthy and maintain homeostasis is to avoid taking drugs because if you take them, the neurons can have different amounts of neurotransmitters depending on what hormone it is affecting and your brain will adjust to that and changing homeostasis But also take them if you don't have enough of it. For example with Parkinson it changes in brain chemistry, people who have it have difficulty controlling their movements, maintaining their balance and starting movements because there is low amounts of dopamine.
The disability that is most relatable to my story is cerebral palsy because he has over reactive reflexes and that has to do with the messages that the brain is receiving and the brain is the major organ of the nervous system. Another example is with developmental delay, some of the neuro transmitters aren't as present like the glutamate, which affects learning, memory and brain development.
