What we did:
What I had to do for this writing piece was to describe myself as a person and this writing was my first writing piece of the year. I started the writing by free writing each sections. I had to describe myself as a 9th grader then who I was as a boy or a girl. It moved in from writing who I was as a teenager to a friend to a human. Once I was finished writing these prompts I choose all of the "Golden Nuggets"(what I liked) of each writing and combine them together. That would be my first draft. It would then be peer critique so I can improve the writing, and so with all of the feed back that we would get, we would make it into a final draft. It was then displayed on a piece of wood that I painted for my writing. Everyone painted their own piece of wood so they can display the writing.
Reflection:
When I was writing this I still felt like everything was going to be the same like my old school, I would still have social anxiety, the classes would be boring like your typical school. It would be like I was the side character and there would be popular kids, but now reading what I wrote, I realized two things. One, I was not so good at writing, I would skip from one thing to another. Second, my view has changed, about school and me. Now I don't see school as a boring place just about memorizing and trying to get straight A's and popularity, but now its this school that is different, its all about projects and making learning fun and that is how it changed me, all the students are nice and they made me loose my social anxiety and become more confident.
