What we did:
In this writing we were shown two pieces of art and with that we had to crate a story. It was supposed to be about what we think the artist is trying to show us. We all had our own individual stories. We had to choose one of our two stories to finalize. This was one of the easiest writing pieces because you can make up the story and it will be good and it was the shortest one I've ever wrote.
Reflection:
When I first saw this painting that was ironically made by the same artist that we were trying to build a tiny house for, I fell in love with it. I like the dull colors, barley any bright colors, it made it look like it was being washed away. Before knowing the real story behind the painting, we had to make our own version of the painting. For me, my version of the story was more dark but I like how Ms. Britt just told us to write a story for it because I was able to use my imagination. Later on when we had to interview our artist Asa, we asked her about the painting and the story behind and it was completely different, "When I walked the streets one day I saw a young girl with her paints painting a wall. She did not appear to have much but she had defiance in her eyes and a lot of artistic fire and energy. She was very young and thin and pretty." But re-reading my story I think it has a unique twist to it.
